Where can our courses be held?
We can deliver training anywhere in the North East & Beyond (as long as there are sufficient learners) so whether you want Care Skills in Newcastle, Wheelchair Safety in Gateshead, Medications in Middlesbrough, Safeguarding in Stockton, Principles of Care in Peterlee, Risk Assessment in Redcar or Health & Safety in Health & Social Care Hartlepool or Dealing with Behaviour we find Challenging in Chester le street we can help!
If you don't have enough learners to book a course on your premises (6+) you can attend one of our open courses or if you have 6+ learners but no space at your premises-you can use ours free of charge
OCN Endorsed Health and Social Care (Principles and Practice) Level 2
In autumn of 2008 FANE developed a course to assist unemployed/ jobseekers to gain employment in the Health/Care professions.
Written around the Care Induction Standards the course helped employers to meet their mandatory requirements in areas such as First Aid/Moving and Handling, H&S, Infection Control, Safe Handling of Medicines, Safeguarding, Principles of Care, Care Planning etc-please see our study notes pages for some of the topics we are able to cover. We can deliver modules on (just about!) any Health & Social Care related topic (Dementia Awareness, Challenging Behaviour, Stoma & Catheter Care, Communication Skills for Care etc
Currently this course is available free of charge for anyone aged 19+ & Living in County Durham who is either, a jobseeker looking for work in Care or a volunteer in their Local Community-click here for upcoming dates in Consett or here to find out about our community learning project
The course is now endorsed by OCN Credit 4 Learning as Health & Social Care Principles and Practice (Level 2)-giving 6 transferable credits for other qualifications and meeting the vast majority of the underpinning knowledge requirement for Level 2 vocational courses in Health & Social Care & the new Care Certificate (April 2015)
The wealth of experience of the FANE staff brings the course content to life- unlike on many similar courses- our staff have been there, done it and lived to tell the tale!- They have the qualifications and real life skills that make the difference, Working Links for the delivery of this programme across Tees Valley, Durham, South tyneside and Wear Valley
It can be run as a full 8 day course- or as a shorter bespoke intervention for specific employers.
Cost per delegate can be as low as £350 for the full course and 5 nationally recognised qualifications(please call to discuss)
We now also run a 179glh Introduction to Working in the Care sector Level 2 (QCF)-which is delivered as a blended learning (distance learning & classroom attendance -over 4-6 weeks
